Abstract: Although the film tourism literature has grown significantly, no scientific landscape review of the subject has yet been conducted. The current article aims to fill this gap by providing an overview of the film tourism literature through the utilization of bibliometric analysis. To accomplish this objective, the authors utilized a publication dataset on film tourism obtained from the Web of Science database, without applying any publication year criterion. During the compilation of this dataset, certain inclusion criteria were established, such as considering articles published in English and limiting the dataset to articles of the publication type. Consequently, a total of 144 articles focusing on film tourism were included in the sample. The authors conducted the analyses using VOSviewer in December 2022, adhering to the predefined parameters. The first article on film tourism published in WoS was in 2005, and the most articles were published in 2021 (n=17). Upon examining the most cited articles, it was observed that four of them surpassed 150 citations. In terms of authors, it was seen that six authors
had more than 200 citations. Four of the top five articles with the highest citations were published in Tourism Management. Australia emerged as the prominent country in the field of film tourism, with Flinders University, an Australian institution, making the most substantial contributions. As a result of the research, some suggestions were presented to the researchers. Future studies may focus on issues such as the effects of the film tourism on local people, destination sustainability, and the potential for new tourism and economic impacts that may occur in the region with film tourism. Furthermore, future bibliometric studies could explore and compare document types and/or film tourism studies acquired from different databases, augmenting the scope of analysis.

Abstract: The development of tourist function in cross-border areas requires appropriate instruments supporting cross-border cooperation. One such instrument is the Cross-Border Functional Area (CBFA). This paper presents pioneering works leading to the creation of the Tourist Cross-Border Functional Area (TCBFA) in the Lithuanian – Polish borderland. Its main aim is to answer the question whether the CBFA instrument is applicable in the development of cross-border tourist destinations, and if so, to what extent. An additional goal is to identify the attributes of a TCBFA on the example of the Lithuanian – Polish borderland. The study debates the relevance of the CBFA in the development of a cross-border tourist destination. It shows that establishing a flexible destination management structure enables the intensification of cooperation between key stakeholders across the border, the implementation of cross-border projects and the promotion of tourist products.

Abstract: The intersectoral management of cultural heritage is one of the challenges of the contemporary world, in which the importance of cultural heritage as a socially and economically relevant development resource is growing. Its co-management is becoming a necessity to ensure its preservation, and one of the forms of fulfilling this need is the activity of non-profit organisations. This article presents the results of a pilot study on the activity of public benefit organisations operating in Poland for the benefit of heritage objects, complexes and spaces. On the basis of the analysis of the reports of public benefit organisations for the years 2019, 2020, the author’s classification of the objectives of the activities of these organisations has been developed and groups and subgroups of their activities have been delineated. The relevance of the organisations in relation to abandoned and endangered heritage in particular was confirmed. Directions for desirable further research on the subject of the participation of non-profit organisations in the management of heritage spaces were identified.

Abstract: The aim of the study was to determine the relationships between identification of specific elements of disturbed natural and cultural landscape and basic biochemical reactions in study participants, namely the presence of stress hormones in saliva. The authors also intended to verify a new research method in the field of tourism and landscape assessment, involving concentration measurement of steroid hormones: cortisol (C), dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and testosterone (T). The results indicate that all respondents were in agreement as to which factors disturbed the landscapes presented. However, their subjective feelings were not reflected in the biochemical reactions. Therefore, the authenticity of landscape, so crucial for tourism, seems less important than expected. The lack of a strong reaction to disturbed landscape is surprising, especially in the context of tourism, in which natural and cultural assets are some of the major factors affecting purchasing decisions and principal travel motives. This situation may be a strong prognostic in the context of sustainable tourism and environment protection. This knowledge may be used by planners and spatial development experts in designing landscapes as well as in assessing the visitors’/tourists’ perception of landscape.

Abstract: The article describes the dynamics of religious practices on Sundays of Catholics in dioceses in Poland in the years 2004–2018. It aims to present the regional differentiation of the dioceses of the Catholic Church in Poland on the basis of changes in the values of dominicantes and communicantes, and to indicate areas in Poland with similar changes in participation in religious practices on Sundays. A typology of the dioceses was done on the basis of changes in the values of the dominicantes and communicantes indicators from 2004 to 2018, using data from the Institute for Catholic Church Statistics. The results indicate the geographical and historical determinants of the changes – participation in religious practices increased in the dioceses located in the area of the former Congress Kingdom (mostly in its eastern part) and Galicia, and decreased primarily in the dioceses located in the Recovered Territories and Greater Poland.
