Abstract: The article presents the results of a study on the use of city parks by Warsaw residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. The analyses covered parks that are under the control of the Warsaw Greenery Board. A general description of parks in terms of their location and development was presented. The study results show that access to parks in Warsaw is varied. In several districts, there are no parks managed by the city authorities. Most parks are well-equipped and well-maintained spaces. During the pandemic, parks were treated by residents as a refuge of great importance for physical and mental health. The situation was similar in cities in other countries, but in Warsaw it was noticeable that the use of parks during the pandemic was less intensive. This particularly applied to seniors and children and adolescents. The imposed restrictions resulted in parks being dominated by adult users with children. The popularity of parks increased when the closure of shopping centers and sports and recreation facilities was extended. After the lockdown, parks, especially smaller ones of neighborhood importance, remained frequently visited spaces. This was the result of the discovery of previously unknown local resources by residents at a time when mobility was limited.
